Maritime Festivals Brest

A large gathering of old rigs created in 1992, the Brest maritime festivals take place every 4 years. This great popular festival brings together many fleets of boats, including traditional boats such as the Belem, historical replicas such as the Hermione or the Recovery The boats include fishing boats, fishing boats, classic sailing boats, skiffs and yachts.
In 2016, the maxi-trimaran Macif by François Gabart, recently launched and victorious in the Transat Jacques Vabre will delight ocean racing enthusiasts.

For the occasion, an armada of more than a thousand boats gathered in Brest harbour, putting on a show in front of hundreds of thousands of visitors. In 2012, Les Tonnerres de Brest celebrated 10 years of creating the event and was a real success, being one of the biggest boat festivals in the world. But the highlight of the show remains the Grand Parade which closes the event. For the occasion, all the boats present are joining Douarnenez from Brest in a giant ballet.
