Today marked the start of the 19th edition of the Voiles d'Antibes - Panerai Trophy. This five-day event announces the opening of the Mediterranean circuit for Traditional and Metric Class Yachts and marks the first leg of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge.

Organized during the first week of June, this great celebration of yachting awaits the most beautiful period yachts, built before 1950, classic yachts, built before 1976 and Esprit de Tradition yachts. The Metric Classes (6MJI, 8MJI and the 12 MJI competing in the America's Cup from 1958 to 1987) are also expected for this event.

Opening of the Mediterranean season

Les Voiles d'Antibes celebrates the opening of the Mediterranean circuit. The boats have reached their home ports and it is an opportunity for everyone to meet up at a major nautical event and take part in regattas. Some boats have undergone renovations or modernizations, others have changed crews or been sold, others are entering the competition. Les Voiles d'Antibes allows you to gather around mythical ships, faithful to the event and which participate each year in the regattas organised. Among these boats, we can mention the Ikra, Sovereign, Thendara, Lelantine or Cambria. The crews celebrate on land, exchange and share in a friendly atmosphere.

Expected regattas but also animations on land

The Voiles d'Antibes - Trophée Panerai are undoubtedly a flagship event in the world of water sports. Several regattas await the participants, the Match Race for the metric classes and the coastal courses between Antibes Juan-les-Pins for the other classes. Ashore, a village on the theme of friendliness and music offers a warm welcome to the participants. Every day, many activities await the guests, with exhibitions and activities on the theme of the sea and the environment, cocktails, concerts, parades. The Sailing Village and Port Vauban, Europe's leading yacht harbour, will take on jazzy colours to welcome the many participants.
