Oxseagen, a luxurious sailboat with a panoramic view

Oxseagen is a luxurious sailing boat project, dedicated to cruising and imagined by the designer Tzy-Lung Stefan Hwang. Sleek and modern, it plays with the interior/exterior spaces by integrating huge windows.

Oxseagen is a 55-meter luxury sailboat designed for cruising. Neat, elegant, simple and modern, this project was designed by Tzy-Lung designer Stefan Hwang as part of the "Young Designer of the Year Award 2014" organized by Boat International Media for Showboats Design Awards.

This futuristic minimalist sailboat, whose design is reminiscent of the notion of purity, seeks to highlight the beauty of its surroundings through light wood, paint and leather and a few touches of metal. The idea is to recreate an immersive experience of living on and with the water and to reduce the interior/exterior boundaries.

A sleek and sporty exterior design

The exterior design of the Oxseagen is all in volume, giving the yacht a sporty look and its design allows a compromise between interior space and view on the outside. The large glass surfaces have the DNA of the sailboat. They create a link between the interior spaces and the exterior environment. The protected cockpit houses numerous seats and a table for 10 people. Then there are two helm stations, a bar and a spa.

The standard sail plan is designed with straight lines, which follow the clean and simple shapes of the vessel. It can be replaced by a race-optimized sail plan for optimized performance. In the racing configuration, lowering the cockpit bimini reduces the risk of damage and improves the yacht's aerodynamics and weight distribution.

Finally, the double staircase connects the bar and the cockpit to the large protected terrace overlooking the tender garage.

Interior design with a focus on the exterior

The interior design is intimately linked to the exterior through its large openings, thus reducing the overuse of artificial light and decoration. Inside, the decoration has been done in a way to emphasize the outdoor environment. Thus, we note touches of light wood, leather and metal and a very sober furnishing with light colors. The living space is open and houses a dining and lounge area with panoramic views of the coast. This central area of the boat also connects the outdoor and private spaces.

The owner's cabin is located at the rear of the boat with a dressing room, direct access to the aft deck and panoramic view of the stern. On each side of the central aisle, there are four guest cabins with their own bathroom and panoramic view of the sea through the large windows.
