Salt, a transparent monohull that is becoming a multihull

Salt is the second yacht project of designer Lujac Desautel. This sailboat whose main platform is made entirely of glass, has the particularity of having a modular hull.

The American designer Lujac Desautel, specialized in architectural design and yacht design has just imagined a new boat model. In 2014, the young designer had proposed a first model of yacht, all in ice, taking again the design of the legos. He was a finalist in the"Young Designer of the Year 2014" competition in the"International Boat" category thanks to the Glass .

With this second model, it attacks the sailboat category. Salt is a sailboat with a large glass platform in its center, which allows a 360° view of the ocean. Apparently, designers have given themselves the word to create yachts with glass walls, since we recently introduced the sailboat Oxseagen The central walls also played with transparency.

Salt houses a community living space, central, enclosed between the two masts and built of glass. The walls are retractable to create an open space on the outside. The particularity of this sailboat is its modular hull that unfolds, like a multihull, to create stairs at the end of which are installed bathing platforms, flush with the water. A garage can accommodate a tender from 5 to 7 meters, in front of the boat.

When the staircases unfold on each side, Salt rises from a width of 11 metres to 21 metres. It would thus be the largest private catamaran in the world.
