MY 37 by Fountaine Pajot, between trawler and star

No more island names for Fountaine Pajot's units. The MY 37 (for Motor Yacht) wants by its name, to mark a new trend of the yard: the top of the range. Presented for the first time in the world at the Multihull Show in La Grande Motte, this catamaran reflects the quality of finish that the yard now wants to present for its motorboats.

Designed by architect Daniel Andrieu, the hull of this catamaran was conceived from the outset as a motorboat. The deck runs from the bow (no trampoline, just sunbathing) to the transom. Long black hull portholes emphasize the line.

Inside, work has been carried out to provide a 360° view of the exterior from the saloon. No awkward helm station at the front, and no partition at the rear. The height of the windscreens has also been increased. The result is a pleasant impression of clarity and luminosity.

In terms of layout, the shipyard has succeeded in accommodating 4 cabins and two heads in this 37-foot model (a layout not found on the competition). The MY 37 is also available in a Maestro version with 3 cabins, the port hull being reserved for the owner with a double berth and bathroom forward.

Particular attention has been paid to interior lighting, with floor and ceiling lighting belts, and to details such as the white glass worktop and polished stainless steel mesh.

On deck, access to the fly is via a ladder, a little steep for our taste. Upstairs, there's a second helm station, a dining area and a large sundeck. This area is protected from the sun by a rigid bimini (optional).

This catamaran has a range of around 1000 miles, with a fast cruising speed of 15 knots (max. 20 knots). So it's not a real trawler, but a speedboat that's still comfortable for the crew.
