Iris series, three photovoltaic hybrid superyachts

Eramotive, a Miami-based design studio specializing in yacht design, has developed a series of futuristic yachts, the Iris range.

It consists of 3 hybrid, solar-powered multihull models, the 125 (127.5 m) with 7 decks, the 75 (75 m) with 5 decks and the 45 (45 m) with 3 decks.

The upper surfaces of each yacht house retractable awnings, built from solar panels, which can be deployed on decks 5, 6 and 7 for the large model. This optional option recovers the energy needed to power the larger model at an average cruising speed of 10 knots and zero carbon emissions. A kite sail can also be installed and add 30% energy savings. The 125 is also equipped with two Rolls-Royce diesel engines and hybrid generators from the same prestigious brand. It can accommodate on board 42 people and 42 crew members.

Each deck has a terrace and the upper decks each have a swimming pool.
