The first pictures of the new Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 48 under sail

After the announcement of the new Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 48 made last April, here are the first pictures of the yacht under sail.

It's not easy to replace a flagship model. The Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 47 presented for the first time in 2010, remains one of the shipyard's best-sellers. To succeed it, the Pilot Saloon 48 refines its lines. Changes in continuity.

The Pilot Saloon 48 uses the hull mold of its little brother, the 47. This design by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design remains unchanged. It's the deck mold that has been redesigned. Gone is the hoop that overhung the cockpit, replaced by a lower deckhouse that sharply refines the line. But the Pilot Saloon retains the specificity of these ranges: a panoramic view once seated in the saloon.

It's in the attention to detail that Wauquiez really makes his mark. With teak fittings, leather finishes and a strong stainless steel presence... Owners will have the choice of placing their cabin in the forepeak or under the cockpit (large aft cabin). Two other cabins complete the layout: one with a double bed and a second with two bunk beds.

The saloon retains its panoramic view, while the galley is sunken on the port side. While the Wauquiez boats are luxuriously finished, we'd also like to point out the seaworthy side of these boats, with a waxed closet right at the foot of the companionway. Let's not forget that these boats are built in the north of France (20 km from Lille), close to a sea that's not always calm!

This new boat, which has already made its debut, will be presented for the first time at the forthcoming Cannes boat show (September 2015).
