Seabob, dive like a dolphin

The Seabob is a toy difficult to qualify. It allows you to pull yourself on or underwater at impressive speeds. All you have to do is hang on to the back and pretend you're a dolphin.

Although it is capable of diving down, the Seabob is not designed for divers. Its speed would block the regulator in the diver's mouth. But then what use is this hybrid device for? Simply to be pulled on and underwater without getting tired: a simple toy.

The Seabob has a turbine driven by an electric motor. In its F5 version (the smallest), the machine weighs 28 kg and has a navigation autonomy of 50 minutes. This F5 model is limited to 15 km/h by a management system with 4 power levels. The F5S model is faster (20 km/h) with 6 power levels. But the flip side of the coin is that the machine weighs 35 kg (given the weight of the more powerful battery).

The "swimmer" has an LCD screen in front of him/her with all the indications including the remaining battery charge.

The piloting of the machine is instinctive since it is enough to swing the body for the machine to turn. Lean forward and it drags you down. Beware all the same of decompression problems which must quickly occur as soon as you go a few meters deep..

The videos make you want to go dolphin on this flash-coloured machine. However, the price of the toy could slow down more than one: 7,845 euros for the basic version and 10,780 euros for the sport model.
