The boats are divided into seven categories, according to size, age and rigging, to race between the Massif de l'Esterel and the Lerins Islands, in the Gulf of La Napoule. The Royal Regattas of Cannes is also the last annual meeting of the Panerai Trophy, the world championship of classic yachting.
