Sargo, the revival of a traditional Finnish brand

By changing its name, the Sargo brand announces its renewal and its international opening. Beautiful program for a traditional family yard.

It's hard not to think of the Targa when you pass a Sargo. And yet, these boats produced in Finland display a much older family tree than the competing brand. Sargo is the inventor, 50 years ago, of the so-called"Sport Fishing" star. And if Targa - the 30-year-old brand - calls itself"4x4 of the seas", Sargo announces itself as the"all-season" star.

The Finnish founder of this brand is a defector from Nautor's Swan. Mr. Edy Sarin, a marine carpenter, started his own shipyard in 1967 as a subcontractor of Swan initially and then by launching a few small sailboats. He quickly evolved into stars under the Minor brand. In June 2014, the third generation of the Sarin family, still at the head of the shipyard, launched the new Sargo brand, retaining the brand's traditional know-how. Minor's abandonment to Sargo is a desire to open up internationally. For Anglo-Saxons the term Minor is pejorative. Sargo is the contraction of the beginning of the family name Sarlin (Sar) and Go which means to go forward, with a notion of speed. Today, the site is managed by the 3 Sarlin brothers.

Sargo launches are recognized as very well built with a fully foamed hull. This foam contributes to the rigidity of the boat, but also to its thermal and sound insulation. Their deep V hulls are known to offer a very comfortable passage to the sea. The maximum posted speeds of these boats, often higher than 40 N, testify to the good behaviour at sea. An obligation for these Nordic shipyards, which often sail on difficult bodies of water.

In 2015, the range is declined in 5 sizes from 25 to 36 feet (7.85 to 11.80 m) with for the 36, a fly model. These headlamps are distinguished by an above-average level of finish, particularly in the woodwork. The inside of a Sargo is immediately warm, intimate.

The Sargo is available in Offshore and Explorer finishes. Offshore" boats have a white hull (or optional colour), a varnished teak interior and mirror polished stainless steel (glossy). Opposite the "Explorer" announces a more chic look with an anthracite (dark grey) hull, a cream wheelhouse, a varnished walnut interior, black stainless steel, leather-covered interior handrails..

The Sargo are imported into France by the Chantier du Redo in Crouesty.
