The request came from a Vismara owner who, seeing the age of his boat getting older and struggling to find a crew to sail, approached the yard to order the boat of his dreams.
The specifications consisted in making a boat very easy to sail with a reduced crew (2 people), with a very bright saloon and giving a beautiful view on the outside, with only 2 cabins to accommodate the owner and a couple of friends.
Thus was born the Vismara V50. This 15.5-metre sailboat is distinguished by its luff deck. The deckhouse, which is quite prominent, stops before the mast. The entire front of the deck is completely unobstructed with a large and beautiful flat surface.
The cockpit is very well worked with several distinct areas. From the rear, you can see a large beach across the entire width of the boat. This hides the storage of the dinghy under the deck (a 2.40 x 1.40 m inflatable model), but also the storage of the footbridge. This way it is always accessible and has a nice storage space.
A high bulwark protects the entire cockpit all the way to the stern. A stainless steel balcony completes it. A beautiful height that will reassure the crew. A first step gives access to the steering station with the 2 wheel steering units around which all the manoeuvres on board return. So this 50 feet is manoeuvred with 2 unique winches (electric all the same)!
We still have to go down one more step to get to the cockpit. It is very protected by a very large deckhouse cap. This cockpit is used for lunch (a table will soon be added) or to protect yourself at sea (from the sun and the wind).
To facilitate manoeuvring, this yacht is equipped with 2 engines - installed at a wide distance from each other and accessible in each of the cockpit chests. Thus, the Vismara V50 manoeuvres with the engine a little like a catamaran. On deck, the jib is furling - but not self-steering - while the mainsail is furling in the boom.
The square corner, on the same level as the cockpit, offers a 360° external view. There is a U-shaped dining area and a large kitchen. No chart table in sight! The owner explains that the square table will do well...
Down below, you can access the cabins. In the version we visited, the owner reserved the entire front part of the mast for himself. He has set up a real dressing room for his belongings, a cabin with 2 beds and a bathroom in the front. Another double cabin with its bathroom completes this arrangement.
The particularity of this boat is that it does not need a mast sponge. A carbon structure takes over the efforts. Thus the boat can be fitted out with a large central corridor without any inconvenience. The very white and rectilinear layouts give a certain coldness, but also a modernity to this interior where nothing goes beyond.
Built in epoxy sandwich with carbon reinforcements, the V50 is lightweight (11 t). Its large keel and T-shaped keel (2.50 m) and its unique saffron give it a nice average. You have to see the owner's smile telling us about his first sailings to know that Vismara built here the sailboat of his dreams. But a dream that has a price since this sailboat is available at 750 000 ? HT ready to sail.
