A new range of catamarans with an inordinate amount of space for Sunreef Yachts

Sunreef Yachts, the custom catamaran specialist will present the first sailing unit of its new series, Sunreef Supreme, at the Singapore Boat Show in April 2016. The Sunreef Supreme 68 will be the mid-range model in the range with a living space of 300 m2!

A range of motor and sailing boats

The Polish shipyard (but created by the French Francis Lapp) Sunreef Yachts specializes in the design and construction of custom luxury sailing and motor catamarans. It unveils a new series of sailing and motor yachts and superyachts where the living space is at the center of the design: Sunreef Supreme.

The first model of this new range is the Sunreef Supreme 68, a 68-foot (20.70 m) sailing catamaran with a total living space of almost 300 m2, offering the surface area of a superyacht in a yacht of less than 24 m. The range will be completed with a smaller and a larger model, similarly available as a sailboat and a motorboat.

This new catamaran will be unveiled exclusively at the Singapore Boat Show from April 7 to 10, 2016, while its engine version will be presented a little later in the year. The shipyard has voluntarily chosen not to show the exterior aspect to create the surprise next April.

A revised architecture for maximum living space

The Sunreef Supreme 68 offers a radically different superstructure concept than what we are used to seeing. The saloon and the outside deck are on the same level. This large main room is surrounded from floor to ceiling by glass and is open to the cockpit. From this space, one can access the deck directly through sliding doors on each side of the yacht. The interior and exterior areas merge into a relaxing and dining area.

Like all Sunreef yachts, all spaces are fully customizable. They can be custom made and decorated (choice of fabric, wood, leather, stone and marble) for a personal style of cabins, salon and bathrooms.

However, the forward part of the main room can accommodate either an owner's suite with sea view and private dressing room or two VIP cabins. Amidships and to the sides, there is enough width to install a fully equipped kitchen, large seating areas, a bar, coffee tables and relaxation areas.

Likewise, the hulls can be individually designed. The impressive volumes can accommodate a large galley with plenty of storage space, a spacious owner's suite, guest cabins and a crew quarter.

The Sunreef Supreme 68 has a very large flybridge covered with a carbon bimini. The space can be equipped with a bar, sofas, tables, sunbathing mattresses or a spa.

All Sunreef Supreme catamarans will be equipped with a spacious aft garage for storing tenders, jet skis, diving equipment and sails. In the lowered position, the garage door joins the aft platform level to create a relaxation area and outdoor sunbathing.

Stairways located on each side of the boat in the side corridors of the hulls allow easy access to the technical compartments. No air-conditioning units are located in the cabins to keep noise levels in the living spaces to a minimum. The centralized electrical system facilitates maintenance. The total weight of the structures has been minimized thanks to a new construction technology, which is not yet disclosed.

Technical innovations for maximum comfort

The mast of the Sunreef Supreme with sails is fixed at the flybridge level, on an arch-shaped carbon beam. This innovative system keeps the salon completely clear.

The Sunreef Supreme motor yacht is inspired by the motorsport and aviation industries. To improve the aerodynamic characteristics of this yacht, a carbon V-shaped spoiler will be installed between the two bows at the front of the yacht to guide the airflow along the superstructure.

Sunreef Yachts has so far signed 5 orders for Sunreef Supreme 68 (3 sailing yachts and 2 motor yachts). The presented model will be returned to its owner after the show.

For the moment, the shipyard does not wish to communicate on the price of the boat. This will be revealed after the Singapore boat show. However, the shipyard told us that the price would be similar to catamarans of the same size, even if it offers much more living space.
