When the boat takes the boat!

How to make your boat cross the oceans without using a skipper for sailboats and without worrying about autonomy problems for motorboats? Here is the answer in video!

The Super Servant 4 is a semi-submersible vessel of the company Yacht Transport. Converted into a yacht carrier, it transports yachts all over the world. She has undergone some transformations, including the addition of dock-type side walls to safely accommodate small or large sailboats or motorboats.

The video below, filmed by a drone in Martinique, shows the process of loading yachts into the Super Servant 4, a rather unusual method, but one that makes sense, as it requires no handling. The boat sinks enough to accommodate the yachts (and their drafts) as they enter the giant ship in forward and reverse and methodically stow them against each other.

Divers then come and fix the boats from underneath so that they do not move when the Super Servant 4 evacuates the water. Then, it empties its ballast tanks, so that the water drains out and it can tackle its crossing.

This method has several advantages, especially for motorboats that do not have enough autonomy to cross oceans, but also for sailboat owners, who no longer need to call upon a skipper to bring their boat from one point to another. The boat does not need to be dismasted and will not wear out during the crossing.
