La transat de Rémi, the arrival in La Rochelle - Episode 10/10

That's it, it's over. Rémi arrives in La Rochelle after 35 days at sea. Since he left Martinique, Rémi has discovered and shared with us the joys - and the constraints - of being crewed on an 11m sailboat.

He launches out on the Atlantic without ever... having set foot on a boat.

Our apprentice captain will set foot ashore in metropolitan France. After a departure 35 days earlier in Martinique, he arrives in La Rochelle, end of his initiatory trip.

The excerpt from his log says a lot about his feelings about this transatlantic race. Not sure if Remi became captain..

"Day 30 - Transatlantic logbook

Five more days, that's the kind of thoughts that haunt me. It's been almost a month since we left Martinique: 30 fucking days on this boat! I can't believe it. This second stage between the Azores and La Rochelle is completely different. There are no more surprises and the routine has settled in. I know there's nothing to do on the boat but wait. It is cold, which forces us to stay inside, which limits our movements even more. Finishes the bare-chested sunbathing on deck, brushing her face with sunscreen. No more moonlit nights admiring the starry sky. It's way too cold for that. My feet are like ice cubes - we are barefoot all the time - and they have trouble keeping warm. The topics of discussion are less, we've started to go around and we need a bit of freshness. The personalities have been revealed for a long time and I don't really see what else I could learn about them (even if in truth, there is still a TAS of things to share). The problems we have encountered so far have all been resolved and there is nothing to complain about. Everyone participates equally in collective life and I have not perceived any tension since we left the Azores. There's really nothing to say... Oh yes, Guillaume made a delicious yoghurt cake!"
