The Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image is an annual photography competition, reserved for professional marine photographers around the world, which rewards the most beautiful photo of a boat in a race. This photo, taken during the year (2015/2016), must reflect the atmosphere and excitement that one feels during a regatta.
This contest intends to honor the work of these artists, but also provide them with a promotional platform to help them promote the sailing race to a wide audience. Professionals had until October 18, 2016 to send their photos. They were 149 photographers, from 25 countries participated, but only 80 shots were pre-selected. These can be viewed on the website of the organization.
For the first time in 2016, voting is open to the public. The winning photo and its photographer will be announced at the Yacht Racing Forum in Malta on November 29.
