When a competitor of the Mini-Transat thinks he's Alex Thomson

Stanislas Thuret is an Assistant Director on feature films, but his ultimate dream remains to participate in the 2017 Mini-Transat. To find sponsors, he uses his cinematographic experience to create hilarious and well-edited parodies where he stages himself. To discover or rediscover without moderation!

Find a sponsor!

All that is missing now is a main sponsor for Stanislas Thuret to support him on his project to participate in the Mini-Transat 2017. And it is by making hilarious parodies that he intends to make people talk about himself and find the missing piece of the puzzle.

Its latest achievement? A parody of Alex Thomson climbing to the top of his IMOCA Hugo Boss (in costume of course!) and diving in all elegance and relaxation from 30 m high! Stanislas - also in suit and sunglasses - climbs on the mast of his "small" boat before diving - less elegantly - into the water. A video full of humour and self-derision to see without moderation.

The Mini-Transat 2017, the main objective!

This young sailor, who is passionate about sailing, but also self-taught, discovered sailing with his father when he was a kid. From then on, he sailed every holiday since childhood and ended up running two seasons in a Mini. In 2015, he wants to participate in the Mini-Transat, but as he explains so well, the late purchase of his boat and his lack of experience offshore dissuade him from doing so.

He therefore takes advantage of the year 2016 to juggle between his work on the TV sets and the navigation on his boat, a Dingo 2, from the Tide High shipyard. He trains all winter long in Concarneau, Finistère, participates in his first regatta in the spring and then embarks on the Transat New York Les Sables as a mediator for Conrad Colman. After that, he finished his last miles in the race on the Mini-Fastnet in Ireland.

Three weeks later, he returned to Ireland to complete his 1000 mile qualifying course, which he completed in 7 days and 10 hours. That's how he qualifies for the Mini-Transat 2017!

SI HUGO A R?VÉ SON ÉCUME DE MER POUR PARTIR EN GRANDE CROISIÈRE, CELA NE L'EMPÊCHE PAS DE NAVIGUER SUR D'AUTRES VOILIERS. IL NOUS FAIT VIVRE AUJOURD'HUI DANS CET ÉPISODE, LA PARTICIPATION AUX VOILES DE SAINT-BARTH. POUR CELA IL INTÈGRE UN ÉQUIPAGE QUI PARTICIPE SUR UN J/122 (UN VOILIER DE COURSE-CROISIÈRE DE 12 M). For me, this race, this adventure is an incredible challenge. It is an opportunity to really get to know yourself, to go all the way mentally and physically. And to be able to say: I did it. In the collective imagination, it is also a dream. Some would call it crazy, impossible. But it leaves no one indifferent. A dream of freedom that unites and speaks to everyone" explains the young skipper.

A boat is missing more than a sponsor

His boat is in the series category (as a reminder, in the Mini-Transat, you can race either on production boats or on prototype boats). In other words, it is manufactured by shipyards in traditional materials, unlike proto.

Kerambigorn - the name of the beach where Stan learned to sail - is a D2V2, built by Marée Haute in 2008, and bought by the young skipper in 2014.
