Barracuda 7, the new fishing promenade opens to idleness

Barracuda 7, new in 2017

Bénéteau will unveil a brand new Barracuda 7 at the Boot in Düsseldorf (21 to 29 January 2017). This new 7.48 m long and 2.50 m wide helmsman is the result of customer feedback during the Barracuda Tour, a no kill fishing competition organised every year by Bénéteau. The Barracuda 7 will be available in two versions and with about thirty options to customize your boat.

A new hull

The Barracuda 7 will benefit from improvements reported by Bénéteau customers and Barracuda Tour aficionados. For example, it will feature a new hull, the latest development for outboards under 9 m, for faster lift-off and stable sailing. The helmsman will be available with an electronically-controlled single engine from 150 to 200 HP, and a 200 L fuel tank.

An enlarged interior space

The interior space has been redesigned and enlarged, with a fully-glazed right-hand wheelhouse housing a larger helm station and port co-pilot seat. The two side doors open onto the port and starboard side decks to facilitate on-board circulation and offer fishing opportunities on both sides of the boat. Below the co-pilot's seat, a storage area houses a toilet and can be converted into a double berth.

Two layout versions

However, Bénéteau has decided to give its fishing boat a more leisurely feel and is offering two layout versions:

Visit 3-door version the wheelhouse is connected to the cockpit by three sliding windows. In this version, the wheelhouse is connected to the cockpit by a three-way sliding glass door.

Visit 2-door version can accommodate 5 people on board, with an enclosed wheelhouse at the stern housing a full-width interior bench seat.

A new fishing station

The Barracuda 7's fishing station is inspired by its big brother, the Barracuda 8 . A folding bench seat at the aft end of the cockpit makes for a flexible layout. The cockpit can be fully opened up for fishing, or it can be used as a relaxation area with comfortable seating, complemented by two side bench seats and a sliding bench seat. The livewell is ideal for storing fish, while the freshwater cockpit shower can be used for both programs. Equipped with the Lowrance electronics package with 7" or 9" HDS display, the Barracuda 7 gains in fishing precision and efficiency.

Three finishes

Each of the two versions (2-door or 3-door) is available in three editions: Fishing Edition Barracuda Tour, Cruising Edition or Essential. Some thirty options, including fishing accessories, bow thruster, electric windlass and many others, allow you to customize the boat to suit your program.
