Antithesis Yacht, the concept of anti yacht

The digital architecture and design magazine Designboom highlights a new kind of yacht project by a young designer: the antithesis yacht.

The Indian designer Rishi Soman has designed a new yacht concept, which breaks with yachting codes and was conceived as an"anti yacht", hence its name"antithesis yacht." The conventional design of the yachts has been redesigned with a redesigned and reinterpreted architecture and a floating volume.

"The monolithic (one-piece) and monochromatic design does not distort the luxurious appearance of the yacht." explains its designer. Thus one finds on board equipment worthy of the biggest superyachts, like a swimming pool or a heliport.

The Antithesis Yacht is inspired by contemporary architecture and conceals cubic shapes and large open and glazed spaces. Thus, there is a large patio opening onto the sea on the main deck, while the upper block houses the living room and an all-glass deck. To break yacht design codes, here the carbon fibre hull with an inverted bow is black instead of the usual white hulls.

An elevated overflow pool is located at patio level, and is shaded by the living room upstairs "This project aims to explore new possibilities in yacht design." explains Rishi Soman.
