Foutaine Pajot presents the world premiere of its new motor catamaran, the MY44, at Boot Dusseldorf (21-29 January 2017). This 13.4 m unit joins the MY37 (11 m), presented at the 2015 multihull boat show, and the MY 55 (16.75 m). This new model is distinguished by its sleek lines and very large living space.

Thanks to its 44 feet, this new catamaran is exhibited in the large motoryacht hall (Hall 6), a real plus for the shipyard in La Rochelle. The truly international dimension of the German boat show also weighed in the balance for the worldwide presentation of the MY 44. We will have to wait for the Grande-Motte multihull boat show (19-23 April) to discover it in France.

Designed on hull plans by Daniel Andrieu, it is based on his little brother's design, signed by the Italian designer Pierrangelo Andreani. The MY 44 has a hull specially designed for the engine to obtain a good compromise between speed, consumption and performance (the shipyard has not reused a sailing catamaran hull that it adapts to the engine). The water inlets are thin, there is a step and a narrow hull for more performance, while above, the boat gains in width to be very habitable.

And habitable is indeed what qualifies this new motor catamaran. "In terms of interior volume, we get the space of a 55-foot monohull" explains Yves de Kerangat, Director of Flagship. The MY 44 offers very large living spaces and is very bright, thanks to the fully glazed saloon and very large hull glazing. "This catamaran model appeals to owners of larger monohulls, who are attracted by the space the boat provides, but also by the stability and good seakeeping." continues Yves de Kerangat.

Starting with the large hydraulic bathing platform from which you can access the cockpit, which is also spacious and equipped with a rear bench seat. The latter is completely open to the 20 m2 saloon (sliding doors), where you will find the kitchen, saloon (two benches and electric table) and interior steering position to starboard. With the panoramic view from the saloon, the space is really bright and the impression of space is amplified. A small cabin is located at the front of the boat.

Access to the owner's quarters is from a private companionway located at the entrance to the salon on the port side. The owner's cabin measures 15 m2, is equipped with a double bed facing the sea, adjacent to a private bathroom with a real shower, and separate w.c.

Two other cabins complete the sleeping facilities: a 7m2 VIP cabin and a 6m2 double or twin cabin with bathroom.

The living and comfort spaces continue outside with a very large forward cockpit of 7m2 which can be accessed via wide catwalks and accommodates two bathing seats. Finally, the flybridge, accessible from the cockpit via a wide staircase, houses a second steering position, protected by a windscreen, a lounge area and a large sunbathing area with adjustable backrest.

On the engine side, the MY 44 is equipped with the IPS 350 to 600 with a maximum speed of 27 knots during the first sea trials in December 2016.
