After the fly boats, here comes the hydrofoil boat

The 40 Open Sunreef Power

Sunreef Yachts, specialist in high-end custom catamarans, will launch a new type of multihull dayboat this summer. The 40 Open Sunreef Power will be available in two versions, a standard version and a gliding version equipped with a retractable hydrofoil system.

The Polish Sunreef Yachts yard presented its first open hydrofoil catamaran concept in 2014, during the Cannes Yachting Festival . Since then, the brand has developed its concept to develop "the fastest technologically advanced fast luxury multihull on the market" as explained by the site.

This multihull design makes it possible to create spaces of greater comfort and obtain high stability, even at high speeds. " Naturally balanced, the 40 Open Sunreef Power does not require stabilization systems and offers a fast and safe navigation experience. A potential that this model explores to the maximum, because it is available in a gliding version and equipped with foils" indicates the site in a press release.

The 40 Open Sunreef Power is equipped with dynamic propulsion with an engine ranging from 2x425 HP to 2x1100 HP for a speed of over 60 knots.

To achieve a higher speed, the 40 Open Sunreef Power H, equipped with foils, is available in multiple outboard engines ranging from 2x627 HP to 4x400 HP. This innovative foil system will allow the boat to be lifted above the water at 25 knots. This model equipped with lift appendages will therefore also be able to reach speeds above 60 knots. In this configuration, the foils will reduce drag to a minimum and therefore fuel consumption.

In an ideology of comfort, the gunwales lower on either side flush with the water to enjoy an even larger cockpit area. A clever system that we had already seen on the Galeon 500 Fly and 510 Sundeck . Under the two large sunbathing areas, there are two large storage areas for toys and other diving accessories.

The cockpit is equipped with two sports chairs, protected by a large windscreen and equipped with a touch screen. At the front of the boat, there is a saloon with a U-shaped bench seat, a seat next to the centre console and two tables.

Depending on the owner's wishes, this space under the deck can also be transformed into a comfortable cabin for a night at sea. Large volumes are also available in the hulls of the boat to accommodate a bathroom, an additional cabin or a lounge.

High-quality audio and video systems, individual equipment, upholstery and new furnishing solutions will be available as options to customize the 40 Open Sunreef Power.
