6 superyacht concepts with (too?) bold design

Here are 6 concepts of superyachts that break with the codes in force in the field of traditional yachting. Their visionary designers wanted to offer yachts with different shapes and uses. But by dint of trying to surprise, perhaps they go too far.

1 - Dare to Dream, Georges Lucian

Dare to Dream is the latest project by Monegasque designer Georges Lucian. This 140 m long yacht is aimed at owners who are passionate about flying, especially balloons. Indeed, the boat's platform is capable of supporting the Zeppelin-inspired balloon, 100 m long. There is also a very large platform at the rear with a heliport or a circular pool. In addition to the yacht - where there will be enough space for 12 guests and 40 crew, the balloon will also house a large reception room for dining or relaxing.

2 - Solaris, Duffy London

Solaris is a 44 m motoryacht designed by the English studio Duffy London which runs on solar energy. With its planing hull and its six 2600 HP engines, which are powered by a combination of solar energy and a turbogenerator, the superyacht is capable of reaching a top speed of 45 knots. On board, there will be room for 10 guests and seven crew members. The designer who believes strongly in his project has even estimated its price at 25 million pounds (just over 29 million euros).

3 - Seataci, Charles Bombardier

This yacht concept was imagined by Charles Bombardier and designed by Martin Ricco, Argentine designer. It uses a biomimetic propulsion system inspired by the tail of a whale. Its main hull is submerged underwater for passengers to enjoy the underwater view. On board, there are a dozen villas and two landing areas for drone. On either side of the main hull, there are two nacelles to stabilize the yacht, and connected to a hydraulic system also serving as a dynamic suspension. To move forward, the Seataci will have engines in each nacelle and an oscillating fin system that pushes the water like the tail of a whale.

4 - Trilobis 65, Giancarlo Zema Design Group

The Trilobis-65 is an ecological yacht & house-boat project 20 m long for 6 people to live in bays, atolls and marine parks. The objective is to allow everyone to live in a fantastic and unusual environment in a self-sufficient non-polluting habitat. The Trilobis-65 consists of 4 levels, the highest of which is 3.5 m above sea level. There are also two underwater levels - 0.8 m and 3 m below sea level - with cabins, bathrooms, engine room and the deepest underwater observation room.

5 - CF8, Sea Level Design

Future Concept CF8 - CF for Cars and Family - is an 80m long superyacht born from the idea of travelling faster anywhere. It has a strong exterior shape with lines reminiscent of sports cars. At the rear is a 5 km long glass outer wall, inspired by the Louwman Exclusive Cars showroom in the Netherlands, which aims to house a collection of 8 cars. The owner has a private space of 170 m2 and a private bridge of 250 m2 with additional cabins for staff. 12 guests can stay in the VIP area in 8 cabins of 28 m2. There is also a large 88 m2 swimming pool, a waterfall, a cinema or a heliport..

6 - Project Utopia, Yacht Island Design

Utopia is a futuristic concept born from the collaboration of Yacht Island Design and BMT Nigel Gee. The idea is to break with the traditional forms of the superyacht, to propose not an object to travel, but a place to live, an island of well-being. With a length and width of 100 m, it has 11 bridges and enough space to create"micronation". The living space is so large that the owner will have the choice of a shopping area, a theatre, several restaurants or an entertainment area with bars, discos or a casino. There is also a 360° observation deck at 65 m above sea level.
