A rigid front deck for the Lagoon MY 630

In 2014, Lagoon launched the MY 630, inspired by its sailing counterpart the Lagoon 620. This 64-foot (19.50 m) motor catamaran allows the yard to return to the world of motoryacht after the MY 44's production stopped in 2006. In 2017, the Bordeaux shipyard is now offering a new option on the largest of its motorized models, the rigid front deck.

In 2017, Lagoon now offers, as an option, a rigid front deck on its successful model, the MY 630, launched in 2014. This model - which has put Lagoon back into the motoryacht market - is almost identical to the Lagoon 620, its sailing counterpart and the yard's largest sailing catamaran, before the 2016 launch of the Seventy 7. The hull, designed by the architect VPLP, had been modified on the rear, to accommodate engines and tanks much larger than on a sailboat. The platform remained the same, as did the layout and the front beach.

A new rigid front deck

Initially, the two bows were connected by a horizontal beam, while a vertical and central beam was used for the mooring line. A net was stretched between the two hulls. From now on, the Bordeaux shipyard offers a rigid front deck to create an additional relaxation area on the MY 630. Nearly 20m2 of platform is now added to the front cockpit area and replaces the trampoline.

A huge living space

With an overall length of 19.50 m and an incredible width of 150 m, the living space - inside and out - is impressive on the MY 630. In the cockpit, through which one can access from one of the two wide skirts equipped with steps, there is a straight bench seat at the stern, installed between the two hulls. To starboard is a C-shaped sofa and a table for 10 people. Opposite it is an equipped external kitchen (sink, refrigerator...) where you can have lunch outside. Note the very wide decks protected by a stainless steel balcony and flush to get to the front beach.

On the flybridge, from which access is gained through the cockpit, there are two helm stations installed at the stern, an original layout. The front is occupied by a sunbathing area, while the starboard area houses a large saloon. On the port side, there is another outdoor galley with an optional sink and refrigerator this time.

Inside, the MY 630 offers 5 layout options: from 4 to 6 cabins, from 4 to 6 bathrooms and a central kitchen (in the saloon) or lateral (in the port hull, at the stern). It should also be noted that it is possible to access both hulls from the aft cockpit, through a glass entrance facing the skirts. To starboard, access is gained to the large owner's cabin.

The layout is the same as on the 620, except for the chart table, modified to perfectly adapt the boat to its new Motor Yacht career.

To sail at 12 knots at cruising speed (Maximum speed 16 knots), the 630 MY only needs 2 engines of 260 HP (Volvo D4-260). Thanks to its reasonable fuel consumption and 3050 l fuel capacity, the 630 MY's range makes it possible to plan very long journeys.
