It was on the basis that the boaters were not wearing their life jackets that Tribord decided to launch a floating life jacket that was easy to put on. Indeed, according to a survey conducted by the Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer, only 1 out of 10 boaters would wear a lifejacket when leaving the sea.
In 2015 was born the Izeber a sleeveless vest approved for 50 newtons. In other words, it is a buoyancy aid, where the user is able to keep his head above the water on his own. Water-repellent, it also guaranteed good thermal insulation. However, the Izeber failed to find its audience and seduce. Indeed, this model was too imposing, too rigid with a "Michelin Man" effect
The brand has therefore decided to rework its floating vest to offer a second version: the Izeber 2. It has kept the same development axes as for the first jacket, namely:
- Easy to put on and off
- Comfort and freedom of movement
- Style value
The sleeveless jacket has been refined and made much more flexible with an interior made of closed-cell polyethylene blades, containing air and microbeads. With a new construction, and by trapping more air, the jacket is lighter and more flexible. The puddles are fewer and thinner to be more free of movement and the components have been lightened. The fabric is water-repellent so that water can slide over the fabric and the effect is accentuated on the shoulders. Finally, the jacket also retains its windproof effect.
Like the previous model, it is reversible (an orange face for visibility and a more sober face), closes with a zipper and is equipped with a removable subcutal for greater safety. On its orange side, it has reflective stripes and two zippered pockets. On its sober side, there are two pockets that close by pressure and a chest pocket closed by zip.
The Izeber 2 is available only in men's version (as the previous model) and in two different colours and is intended for coastal navigation, occasional or regular.
