New French freediving record for Morgan Bourc'his

Frenchman Morgan Bourc'his, two-time world freediving champion, has just beaten his own record and set a new national freediving record in constant weight, with a descent to a depth of 104 m, achieved in 3:43 minutes.

Morgan Bourc'his, 39 years old, is one of the best freedivers in the world, being part of the top 3 in the world, alongside the world record holder, New Zealand's William Trubridge, who can descend to 102 m and the Russian Alexey Molchanov, who has crossed the 90 m barrier. He has also won several world titles (2013 world champion) in his favourite sport: freediving without fins (constant weight).

From April 30 to May 10, 2017, he participated in the Vertical Blue, an international freediving competition in the Bahamas. And it was on his last day of competition that he set a new national record. He descended to a depth of 104 m in free immersion on the Blue Hole spot, staying underwater for 3:43 minutes. This was the second time the French champion has participated in the event after 2012.

However, the French performer wasn't going there to win, but to prepare himself and take his bearings for the next AIDA Deep World Championships, which will take place in Honduras on August 22nd.
