French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who has just spent 6 months in space aboard the International Space Station, returned to Earth on June 2, 2017. During his stay, he took the opportunity to immortalize the earth from heaven. Review of his most beautiful photos of Brittany and its islands.

Brittany seen from space, its islands with dark blue or turquoise waters, this is what astronaut Thomas Pesquet was able to admire during his six-month stay on board the International Space Station. He took the opportunity to take a series of splendid photos, which we suggest you discover below, with his personal comments.

Brest

The nuclear submarine base on Long Island (Crozon), opposite Brest

North Brittany

North Brittany, towards Saint-Malo: the Emerald coast takes over from the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Sand and water create like a giant sandglass that flows to Cancale..

Morbihan

Some very beautiful houses on the islands of the Gulf of Morbihan..

Groix

Groix, the garnet island, very recognizable from space: if you can't see the Red Sands from here, the convex beach is inratable!

Lorient

It is almost summer in Lorient (April 2017), which is perhaps already busy for the interceltic festival.

Port-Navalo (Arzon)

Port-Navalo and its pastel colours guard the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan.

Quiberon

I think that Morbihan is one of the regions of France that I like the most to photograph... Here the peninsula of Quiberon and its superb Grand Plage which has nothing to envy to the islands of the south... except maybe a few degrees? ;)

Saint-Brieuc

In the bay of Saint Brieuc, there are small regular squares on these islets (left). Oyster traps...?

Côtes-d'Armor with Saint Brieuc... Yes Normandy invented the cider, but the Bretons have the cake;)

Saint-Malo

Face to face between Dinard and the corsair city Saint Malo, the tomb of Chateaubriand between the two
