The cockpit of a sailboat is the place to live. It is here that we manoeuvre, but also that we land in the sun or to read. The table in the centre also serves as a dining table (or aperitif). On vacation, we like being outdoors. The cockpit thus becomes the centre of the boat.
But how can you reconcile a sitting position with a backrest that will be comfortable at the table or reassuring at sea, with a large sunbathing area that you appreciate when it doesn't list too much to tan quietly?
Jeanneau seems to have found the solution. These are cockpit folders that lower down to a large horizontal surface. When they are surveyed, they form files like what we usually see on these sailboats. When lying down, they cover themselves with cushions to provide a large horizontal sunbathing area.
It remains to be seen whether the ascent and descent mechanism is easy to implement and whether the cushions remain in place in both positions, but if so, this modular solution seems to us to be well studied and undoubtedly very pleasant.
