Windy, a Norwegian shipyard renowned for its robust and safe sportboats, launched the 27th Solano, little brother of the Zonda 31, at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2017. An 8.24 m dayboat, a mix of retro and modern with all the necessary comfort for a day at sea.

On 27 Solano is a sporty open with a classic retro style that follows the lines of the 31 Zonda. This 8.24 m long dayboat has been designed with simplicity in mind, but with comfort on board. The finishes and equipment are of very high quality. The 27 Solano is reminiscent of the brand's sportboats, built in the 60s and 70s, but with today's comfort, design and technology.

There is a beautiful swimming platform on the aft with deck shower and entrance to the cockpit on the port side. To starboard, a sunbathing area facing the sea, coupled with a straight cockpit bench seat. The backrest, which separates the two comfort areas, slides to enlarge the sunbathing area. On each side of the 27 Solano, a side bench allows you to enjoy a meal around a folding cockpit table (optional). As an option, the port side bench seat can be replaced by a cockpit galley with ceramic plate and 49L drawer refrigerator. As standard, the boat has a 12 V refrigerator in the cockpit at the co-pilot seat.

The modern and spacious helm station, installed on the starboard side, receives a Raymarine eS98 Hybridtouch GPS with depth sounder and chart and has an armchair with a foldable end for sitting-standing driving. Central steps lead to the front deck allowing easy access through the windshield with steel upright and central opening. The front axle can also be equipped with an additional sunbathing area as an option. To protect itself from the sun, the 27 Solano is standard equipped with a dashboard cover, an anchor cover and a camping cover.

Under the deck, there is a cabin with two berths and separate toilets. The space is wide, but with little height under the beam. For leisure, the 27 Solano has a radio with Bluetooth and a water skiing ring.

On the engine side, the dayboat comes standard with a 350 hp petrol inboard, which gives it a speed of 45 knots. Other options are available:

  • Volvo V6 - 4.3 L - 270 CE DP - 280 hp Petrol (161,000 euros including tax)
  • Volvo V8 - 5.3 L - 350 CE DP - 350 hp Petrol (170,000 euros including tax)
  • Volvo V8 - 6.2 L - 430 CE DP - 430 hp Petrol (178,000 euros including tax)
  • Volvo D4 - 3.7 L - 300 EVC DP - 300 hp Diesel (174,000 euros including tax)

Windy is a Norwegian shipyard, with boats built in Västervik on the east coast of Sweden and in Ostroda, Poland. The range consists of open and sports stars and custom tenders from 22 to 53 feet. With 50 years of experience, the yard is known for its craftsmanship, resin transfer molding and deep V-shaped hulls. "Our boats are a bit like the Norwegian Chris Craft ", explains one of the site's employees, to give us an idea of the brand's positioning.
