Fountaine-Pajot, still growing at 2 figures

Fountaine-Pajot Catamaran

The catamaran specialist Fountaine-Pajot announces results for 2016-2017 that are still rising sharply and expects 2018 to be just as successful.

Double-digit growth in 2017

The Fountaine-Pajot group announced an increase in sales for 2016-2017. It reached 79 M €, an increase of 11.9% compared to the previous financial year, higher than the estimates.

In terms of products, the brand's motor catamarans, internally known as MotorYachts, posted good growth of +25.3%, in a niche that whets the appetite of shipyards. The Lucia 40 is Fountaine-Pajot's best selling sailboat for its first year on the market.

Fountaine-Pajot's export trend is confirmed. The rochelais multihull yard indicates that 90% of its sales are made abroad. Europe and America are growing sectors and together account for more than 55% of transactions. While the Caribbean and France are down over 2016-2017, the group is optimistic about the recovery of these two markets.

The year was also marked by the entry into the capital of Dream Yacht Charter, one of the major players in boat charter.

Optimism and hiring for 2018

Fountaine-Pajot draws a positive balance of the autumn boat shows, which according to him marks the recovery of the market. The yard is building on the success of its last two launches, the Saona 47 in the sailboat range and the MY 44 in the MotorYachts range to support the company's growth in 2018.

The continuation of the Océan 40 internal improvement plan should be accompanied by the recruitment of 100 to 150 people. The new production vessels will reach their cruising level as the brand prepares to launch a new 67-foot flagship for boaters and charter companies.
