Rhéa Marine launches the Trawler 34, a small 36 in a 34-foot boat

The new Trawler 34 from Rhea Marine, to be discovered at the Nautic 2018

The Nautic 2018 will feature the Trawler 34, the new entry-level Trawler. A "real" novelty for the shipyard of La Rochelle which for 5 years presented evolutions, new versions or limited series. This new model presents itself as a "copy" of the 36 in a 34-footer and takes up the successful characteristics of its big brother.

The Trawler 34 thus completes the Trawler range from the bottom, already composed of 4 models from 36 to 57 feet (10.80 m to 17.40 m), the latest of which, the Trawler 36, was presented in September 2013. Unlike its big brother, of which it will be the "copy", the Trawler 34 will be built in France, in La Rochelle. " The 36 was built in Istanbul, Turkey, but we were unable to bring the production tools back to France. So we started from a blank page to create the 34, which will be the first Trawler built in France. We hope to move up the range and offer an even better quality boat" explains Florian Coroller, the site's communications manager.

In terms of design, the Trawler 34 will take up the characteristics of the Trawler 36, namely the classic and elegant lines of the range or the interior and exterior fittings. "It'll be a 34, but designed as a 36." says Florian Coroller. Thus, in the cockpit, the transom switches to a balcony mode on the water. It can also be fixed and fitted with a fixed bathing platform. The cockpit will be left empty with benches and stowage lockers, and will accommodate the staircase on the port side to access the flybridge.

On the fly, there is a helm station on the port side with a saloon on the starboard side. The aft space is sufficient to accommodate the tender. As an option, the fly can be replaced by a sedan, i.e. a sunroof, which reduces the draught and is more suitable for river navigation. The sundeck is located on the foredeck, which can be accessed by a few steps, well protected by raised bulwarks at the bow, combined with a stainless steel balcony.

The Trawler 34 is a really safe boat thanks to its closed transom, its side decks well protected by high bulwarks and its numerous handrails. Boarding is easy thanks to the coupé doors and moving around on board is facilitated by the two side doors in the wheelhouse or by the glass doors in the saloon which open fully to create a large interior/exterior space, especially with the galley facing outwards thanks to the window opening towards the cockpit.

On the main deck, it has a large galley on the starboard side (larger than on the Trawler 36, which had a second bench seat) and a saloon on the port side, which converts into an additional berth. The starboard cockpit is fitted with a double bench seat, as is the opposite co-pilot's bench seat.

Below deck there are two beautiful double cabins - owner's cabin in the forepeak and mid-cabin in the centre of the boat. A shower room completes all the amenities.

The Trawler 34 receives a single or twin engine (2x260 hp) in the shaft line.
