2018 European powerboat: 5 family models for a water holiday

Jeanneau's NC 33

The nominees selected in the 25 to 35 foot category respond to the following programs: water vacations and family boating. These boats are often used during the summer holidays and therefore have a distribution of spaces and a layout particularly adapted to small cruises.

From Antonio 28

The D28 is inspired by its brothers, the D23 and the 33, and takes on the characteristics of each of these models. This 7.99-meter day cruiser can gain 50 cm in length thanks to the addition of a bathing platform. It is distinguished by its modern design and its very straight lines that give it elegance and sportiness. Its V-shaped hull allows it to easily reach 38 knots with 2x250 hp. It can be equipped with a single or twin outboard motor.

Its single-level walk-around deck layout makes it easy to move around on board (not to mention its great width of 2.95 m), and there are numerous comfort areas on board. Starting with the large sundeck at the rear, the dining area with the large pilot bench (3 seats) whose removable backrest can be positioned either in driving mode or in dining mode, or the forward deck which accommodates a dinette (or additional sundeck). Finally, for the greatest comfort of all, a toilet is accessible from the front of the center console.

Jeanneau NC 33

The NC 33 is a 10.50m family inboard boat that incorporates the successful features of the New Concept range, such as a walk-in layout and modularity. This floating apartment has a wheelhouse on the same level as the cockpit, where the bench seat moves forward and backward (on a rail) to save space. Whether it's a dining area or a sunbathing area, the emphasis is on the exterior. There is also the possibility of having a second sunbathing area on the front deck.

Inside, we find all the necessary equipment for short cruises, namely, a kitchen and a saloon (which serves as a 3 berth), as well as two double cabins and a bathroom. The NC 33 is powered by a Volvo 2xD3-220 HP sterndrive.

Sea Ray Sundancer 320

The Sundacer 320 is a 10.32m weekender - the first modified deck plan model in the sport cruiser range. This "hybrid" model combines the advantages of a cruiser - namely a nice cabin - and a bowrider - a spacious and comfortable front deck. At the stern, the Sundancer 320 has a very large swim platform with an overhanging sunbathing area that tilts back to provide even more comfort. The very large cockpit is equipped with a galley, a large salon and a two-person starboard helm station.

Inside, there is a beautiful cabin with good headroom, a mid-cabin in the center of the boat (two twin beds or double bed) and a bathroom. Finally, the foredeck is home to three deck chairs with armrests and headrests to enjoy a moment of relaxation, accessed through a side passage on the port side, a bit like on a bowrider. The Sundancer 320 is powered by a 2x300 HP Mercruiser 4.5 L Sterndrive (186 kW). 2x350 HP Mercruiser 6.2 L are available as an option.

Windy 27 Solano

The 27 Solano The Zonda 31's little brother is an 8.24 m dayboat, a mix of retro and modern with all the comfort needed for a day at sea. This sporty open boat with a classic retro style has the same lines as its big brother and has been designed with simplicity in mind, but with comfort on board, with high quality finishes and equipment.

In the cockpit, which can be accessed from a beautiful bathing platform, there is a sunbathing area, a dining area and an optional cockpit kitchen. The foredeck - accessed by a few steps through the central opening in the windshield - can accommodate an additional sunbathing area.

Below deck, there is a cabin with two berths and a separate toilet. The dayboat is powered by a 350 hp gasoline inboard engine, which gives it a speed of 45 knots. Other propulsion options are available.

Apreamare Gozzo 33

The Gozzo The Apreamare shipyard has revived the traditional Italian fishing boat launched 170 years ago. This small 10m open boat, designed for day trips or small family cruises, has the typical round lines of the Gozzi, traditional Italian fishing boats. The Gozzo has a walk-around deck layout, with a very large aft cockpit and a large forward deck. On board, the emphasis is on comfort, with a large sundeck (covering the engine room that houses the 2x200 hp Volvo Penta) whose modularity makes it possible to create either a dining area or a seating area.

Despite a very low roof, the headroom is impressive: 1.80 m and the interiors are spacious. The front of the Gozzo houses an open double cabin, a galley in the center and a real bathroom with separate shower, as well as a mid-cabin.

With its 2x200 hp, the Gozzo reaches a maximum speed of 28 knots with its planing hull and a cruising speed of 24 knots.
