Rental management in 3 words
Management with Moorings and Sunsail is simple: you buy a new boat, and receive a fixed and guaranteed monthly income for the duration of the contract (about 5 years). This annual profitability of between 8% and 9% allows you to cover all or part of your leasing or credit repayment. Throughout the program, you can sail for up to 12 weeks a year on your boat or equivalent in the world.

After a few boat rentals at Moorings and multiple cruises in the Caribbean (BVI, Grenadine, St Thomas...), I had the opportunity to acquire a catamaran in rental management in Moorings in Polynesia.
Moorings and Sunsail did not allow me to discover paradise, but to get close to it!
For the past 9 years (I'm in my second program), I've been sailing between 2 and 3 months on these South Seas between Tuamotu, leeward islands...

"At the end of each contract, my boat was in very good condition."
Almost fifteen years ago, after having remained the owner of various boats, I thought to myself that the annual fees as a pure and hard owner of a boat without income were too expensive for the pleasure I got from it. So I thought about management-rental. At that time I rented 3x a week a sailboat from three different companies and I chose the one that seemed the most serious to me: Moorings who had supplied me at that time a 3 year old boat that was in perfect condition while the other companies had provided me with a more recent boat, but oh how much in already bad condition.
Since this choice, I am already on my 3rd Moorings/Sunsail contract. The first for a 42' monohull operated in Tortola, the second for a 40' catamaran operated in the Seychelles and the third for a 44' catamaran also operated in the Seychelles.
I can only welcome my initial choice. Each contract has been respected to the letter on both sides... What is signed is firm and definitive. At the end of each contract, my boat was in very good condition and was easily resold. Proof of my satisfaction: at the end of this contract, after 15 years of sailing, I want something else, I think I'll turn to "Le Boat" (sister company of Moorings/Sunsail) and move on to inland navigation.
If you, a potential buyer, hesitate to choose Moorings/Sunsail, I can only invite you to take a walk on the pontoons, you will discover some very unpleasant surprises regarding the condition of the rental boats operated by other companies... The sirens of certain companies praising their merits, their basic numbers or their mirific incomes must not make you forget the essential: you entrust a large capital to a company, it is more than important that it is well maintained and returned to you in a correct state.

We have just signed a third contract with Moorings. We started in 2004 with a Bénéteau 32 based in Tortola, a small boat, but enough for both of us. We made the most of this magnificent spot that is the BVI.
In 2012, with a friend, we took a Leopard 39 that we based in Fethiye, Turkey, but due to the unrest in this region, it was transferred to the Balearics.
The exchange program has enabled us to sail at an unbeatable price: in Australia, the West Indies at the bases of Saint Lucia and Saint Martin, the Seychelles, Polynesia from Raïatea, Turkey, Croatia from Agana, Greece, and of course the Balearics.
Our first favorite: the West Indies, which we have criss-crossed several times from the Grenadines to the BVI. Each time, we block all our weeks in low season and go for a long time to discover this magnificent region.
2nd favorite: the Balearics, turquoise water and small coves of white sand. Four completely different islands that preserve wild landscapes and quiet anchorages alongside urbanized and festive areas.
The "Owner Relations" team is really attentive to our needs and has always accompanied us with professionalism and kindness to make our dreams come true. We appreciate arriving on boats that are always well prepared and in good condition. The effectiveness of the local technical teams should also be noted.
This was an important point in our decision to leave with them for a 3rd boat, still with our friend: a Leopard 40, 3 cabins based this time in Belize.

"Rental management: I see nothing but advantages"
Here is in a few lines my feeling about the management-rental service. I see almost nothing but advantages:
- shared use of boats that are always in good condition, which allows us to sail from the first day of our arrival
- with a controlled budget, possibility to navigate on larger units
- boats that are generally well maintained and recent
- friendly and professional teams

"If I have a regret, it's that I didn't enjoy it enough!"
Why did you choose rental management?... It was only after a very long experience of rental at Moorings (by Midi Nautisme since the 1980s) during which I was able to appreciate the quality of boat maintenance.
I was seduced by the possibility of sailing from more than 20 bases (at least at the beginning) spread over all continents and if I have one regret, it is that I didn't enjoy it enough!
It is pleasant and reassuring to have no worries about maintenance, repairs, berths, and to be able to find your boat (or a similar one) on the other side of the world.
I also like to be able to count on the assistance for all the formalities, especially for the trips (thanks Mariner Travel) and congratulations for the possibilities of over classification in last-minute which allowed me to discover the catamaran.
But all this would be nothing without the sympathy of the team!
