As its name suggests, the ITA Catamarans shipyard is Italian. It launches a 50-foot catamaran that will be presented in preview at the Multihull Show in April 2018 and then in Cannes (September 2018).
This little gem whose first hull has just been moulded plays in the hands of luxury catamarans that don't want to penalize performance. For him nothing is too beautiful! High-tech building materials, oneSail sails made of recyclable materials Oceanvolt electric motors... But above all an estimate of weight announced at 10.5 light tons. Really very little for 50 feet...
This 50-foot multihull will be equipped with sword daggerboards for upwind sailing. Its sail plan is quite far back with a narrow mainsail (blade shape) and substantial headsails including Code 0 and gennaker.
As for the layout, the sailboat will be available in 2 or 3 cabins with the starboard owner hull. The opposite hull can be equipped with a desk. On the nacelle under the deckhouse, several kitchen layout solutions are available.
The helmsman who will have the chance to drive such a device will be behind one of the two wheel steering systems typically installed at the back of the floats. The helm position where you can best see the sail plan.
We look forward to discovering this newcomer to the multihull world. It is also an opportunity to discover the price of this jewel whose bows make you want to split the waves.
