Meta 36, when Meta launches into the series

Meta, accustomed to delivering bareboat hulls, goes into series production with the Meta 36, an 11-metre cruiser built in Strongall.

The Meta shipyard remains for all sailors a mythical shipyard. It is indeed the shipyard that built Bernard Moitessier's Joshua. This famous sailor/boat couple who made generations of yachtsmen dream by abandoning the Golden Globe race in 1968 to continue sailing and begin a second round the world voyage.

This site is also known for having developed the Strongall construction process. This is a thick aluminum construction, where the sheets of the planks also serve as the structure. With this construction technique, the shipyard based in Tarare (near Lyon) produces hulls, the finishing of the fittings remaining the work of others.

But with the Meta 36, it's different. Indeed, this 11m ocean cruising yacht, in Strongall of course, will be sold helm in hand, ready to sail. A new orientation of the shipyard, more used to selling bare hulls.

Designed by Jean-Claude Michaud, this sailboat will have a more modern aesthetic. Gone is the idea of a safe, as solid underneath as it is defended on top. With the Meta 36, the deckhouse lines are more taut and the cockpit is modern and open aft.

On the accommodation side, it will be proposed in 2 double cabins. The circulation towards the forward cabin will be offset to starboard in order to leave a table in the saloon (headroom 1.95 m). The L-shaped galley offers a nice work surface and the chart table is provided with storage space. At the stern, a beautiful toilet cubicle integrates toilets.

For the hull, it will be offered in twin keels/bi-sail or keelboat/mono rudder. The ballast is not at the end of the keel, but in the bilges, the keels only serving as an anti-drift plan.

This is a beautiful sailboat with modern lines and a Strongall hull. The price list, which has been studied in detail, should not be ashamed of the competition. This sailboat will be proposed from 200 000 euros TTC. Which does not spoil anything! Launch planned for autumn 2018.
