Neel 47, the three-hull loft

Neel completes its range with a 47-foot trimaran designed this time by Marc Lombard. This architect brings a touch of novelty and tries a different layout from the rest of the production.

It's some kind of loft that Neel's yard is starting. The first three Neel models (45, 51 and 65) come out of Michel Joubert's drawing board. After his death, Marc Lombard succeeds him and presents the new Neel 47.

Marc Lombard, the new architect

This sailboat remains a habitable trimaran that takes up the shipyard's trademark. One finds in particular the large owner's cabin at the level of the saloon and the cockpit, which benefits from an extraordinary view. There is also the Cockloon (Cockpit/Saloon), a concept from the shipyard that combines the saloon and cockpit in a single space thanks to large sliding opening windows.

But architect Marc Lombard didn't just design a slightly enlarged Neel 45 to make a 47. Starting from the concept, he refined the lines, reversed the front windscreen layout, marked the hulls with angles and above all carried out completely different layouts.

Innovative design

Thus the Neel 45 has 2 large cabins on the same level and floats simply arranged with single berths. In the Neel 47, the bias is different. The deckhouse now houses only one owner's cabin. This one has retractable bulkheads to give the impression of being in bed in the middle of the boat. Like in a loft without partitions!

Isolated guests

The other two guest cabins are in the two floats. Access is via an independent companionway accessible from outside. Guests will be able to enter and leave without disturbing, totally autonomous with their own bathroom. The owners will keep the royal cabin and will have a real bathroom in the forward point of the central hull. The view from the bridal bed will be magical with the removable bulkheads, the vision being able to extend forward over the chart table.

The size of the cockpit is also increased with direct access to the helm station. It should be noted that the pilot's seat is added to facilitate communication between the two areas. A sunbathing area on the deckhouse will only be accessible at anchor (not while sailing) for safety reasons.

Launch in 2019

Production of this Neel 47 is scheduled to start in the summer of 2018 (when the factory extension will be delivered) and the first model is scheduled to be launched in early 2019 (first presentation at the 2019 multihull boat show).
