Pushed by the Wind:"Brazil has to be earned and the Doldrums are quite an experience"

In this 20th episode of Poussé par le Vent, Maloya's crew crosses the Atlantic to reach Brazil. On the programme, a 10-day crossing, an eventful passage through the Doldrums, but above all a lot of emotion for everyone!

Finished Cape Verde, it is now time for Sarah, Aurélien and Nael to join Brazil. For this crossing - which they estimate at 10 days - they are accompanied by another sailboat, a Dufour 50, the only other crew to join Brazil

This transatlantic race represents a real challenge for Nael's parents: keeping baby busy for 10 days, managing a capricious doldrums with big rainy squalls and a good 20 knots, keeping her watch even with seasickness... "Brazil is earned and the Doldrums are quite an experience," Sarah says.

But it is also a symbol, leaving the northern hemisphere, where Aurélien was born to join the southern hemisphere, where Sarah was born... Despite fatigue, some frights, sports nights, life on board continues: Christmas party, opening presents, nap, repairs or painting...

And it is finally after 10 days of crossing that ends the transatlantic Pushed by the Wind, arriving at Fernando de Noronha, Brazilian archipelago of the South Atlantic. A "first big stage of their journey, a really great experience, decorated with sunsets and starry nights, with a Doldrums passage with unstable winds" explains Sarah. For Aurélien, whose first voyages had been complicated because of seasickness, it is a question here of achieving"a dream managed wonderfully well, with a baby blossoming in spite of being locked up"

In short, Maloya's crew is happy and has only one desire, to continue its long navigation to discover incredible landscapes!
