What training at the Institut Nautique de Bretagne in September?

Promotions for future yachting professionals at the INB

The Institut Nautique de Bretagne, also present in the Mediterranean, trains yachting professionals. A look back at the courses offered to enter the nautical world, whether you are young or retraining.

3 Sites and 400 Interns

Every year, the Institut Nautique de Bretagne (INB) trains 400 people in yachting. The courses take place at the 3 sites of the organization in Concarneau and Port-la-Forêt in Finsitère, as well as Villefranche-sur-mer in Alpes-Maritimes. All the training courses can be carried out in alternation and are open to employees undergoing professional reconversion.

Boating companies are currently facing a shortage of qualified manpower created by the resumption of activity and retirements, as shown by figures regularly published by professional unions. This lack opens up important employment opportunities for INB trainees.

Technical trainings

The INB offers 3 training courses for boating technicians:

  • Bac Pro nautical maintenance, duration of 3 years, in apprenticeship
  • CQP Nautical mechanic, 9 months in full-time training or 18 months in alternating training
  • CQP Nautical maintenance agent, of 9 months duration in full-time training or 18 months in alternance

These training courses benefit from modern technical platforms to train trainees in marine mechanics, stratification or electricity on board.

Technical and commercial training courses

The INB offers several courses for technical sales training, from an initial training of 2 years full time for a young public, Bac level, to the alternation of 2 years within the framework of a professionalization contract through the reconversion in 9 months into full-time training, for adults changing activity. She prepares trainees to sell boats or equipment in shipyards and dealer networks.

Nautical training

The INB also trains sailing instructors through 2 courses:

  • ATAN : preparatory training for BPJEPS Voile (supervision of sailing activities) in 8 months
  • BPJEPS Sailing: 2-year apprenticeship training
