The world's first autonomous hydrogen ship
Energy Observer is the first energy self-sufficient hydrogen vessel without greenhouse gas emissions or fine particles. This ship of the future with electric propulsion operates thanks to a mix of renewable energies and a system for producing carbon-free hydrogen from seawater. This technological and scientific challenge aims to test, under extreme conditions, cutting-edge technologies that prefigure tomorrow's energy networks, applicable in terrestrial environments.
Energy Observer has undertaken a six-year Odyssey for the Future (2017-2022), 50 countries, 101 stopovers, to raise public awareness of the major themes of ecological transition, including renewable energy, biodiversity, mobility and the circular economy, during its stopovers on its itinerant village, on social networks and through a documentary collection. This world tour is led by Victorien Erussard, founder and captain, and Jérôme Delafosse, expedition leader and documentary filmmaker.

Meeting 17 sustainable development objectives
One year after the launch of this great campaign for the future, Energy Observer has already covered 8000 miles to find solutions for the planet. A world tour during which the team explores diverse and varied themes such as the energy transition, the solidarity economy, the fight against poverty, the protection of biodiversity or the fight for equality between men and women, i.e. all 17 Sustainable Development Goals for which Energy Observer is the first ambassador for France.
