Special Edition / Gala Boats, a range of semi-rigid boats designed for fishing

Gala Viking Fishing, semi-rigid for fishing

The semi-rigid is easy to transport, very stable on the water and its modularity has until now allowed it to be adapted to fishing. Recently, the brands have been fitted on series models for fishermen. This is the case of Gala Boats, a Canadian brand of aluminium-hulled semi-rigid boats, which has declined a Fishing version of its Viking range, initially intended for yachting.

A very complete fishing equipment

After boating, Gala Boats - aluminium-hulled semi-rigid boats - have developed a range specifically for fishermen that is fully equipped as standard for fishing. While the modularity of the semi-rigid allows it to receive a whole range of dedicated equipment as an option, it is now possible to buy its standard equipped tyre.

On board, everything has been designed to fish in complete peace of mind: a livewell supplied with seawater by a pump, removable rear benches to free up space, a cushion on the centre console to fish standing up comfortably in front, rod holders, large dashboard space to install navigation instruments and various sounders..

And to go even further, the brand has even thought of integrating cutting boards - large aluminium supports on the floats to prepare its baits or fish! Finally, a seawater shower allows you to quickly rinse your boat after a fishing trip.

All this equipment is available on the brand's two Fishing models: the Viking 650 F (21.4 feet) and Viking 580 F (19 feet). And if they are also equipped, it is because they have been specifically developed by a fisherman for fishermen.

Space on board

On board, the deck is clear and easy to move thanks to the two passages on each side of the console. There is a large fishing area at the front, but also at the rear with an empty cockpit or removable seats (optional) that can be stowed in the transom trunk and free up the deck space needed for fishing. It is easy to move around the boat without disturbing your crew.

Very marine semi-rigid boats

Apart from this "fishing" aspect, the Viking 650 and F and 580 F retain the brand's marine qualities. Namely an aluminium hull with a deep V on the front and a rear hull with the engine that retracts a little, characteristic of Gala Boat, and that allows it to take off even flat.

The seakeeping is impeccable and almost unbeatable with Gala taps (flaps), directly integrated into the boat's structure and which allow you to launch from the start.

The smallest model receives 90 to 140 hp (up to 175 hp for the older brother and has a self-draining bridge to drain water easily after each cleaning. Available in Valmex[top-of-the-range PVC], Hypalon is also available. Several colours are available: white, grey or black.
