Web series / The transpacific! Tivano approaches the Marquesas

After 30 days at sea, galleys and vomit, Tivano's family crew approaches the Marquesas. Finished the Atlantic, it is now in the Pacific that these sailors are sailing their keels.

It has been 9 months since Charlotte and her husband Pierre embarked in La Rochelle with their 2 children Julia and Gabriel (who just celebrated her 2 years!). 9 months of wandering and discovery to approach today the Marquesas at the end of a happy crossing in spite of small hazards specific to sailing.

Charlotte sums up this month at sea for us:"A hell of an adventure for the whole family, with our future little Titano in my belly! For the future transpacifiens, it is recommended to leave earlier in the season, to avoid the 10 days closely before the Galapagos.

We didn't plan to stop there, but we tore the genoa apart because of our long close-hauled edges and had to make a forced stopover to have it repaired. These islands are superb and the inhabitants are adorable, but the stopover is extremely expensive...

Otherwise, we had a lot of Corsican charcuterie at Pascal and Audrey's, Corsican caterers based in Panama and it was a real pleasure crossing. A good plan to share for the sailors on departure!

At sea, we saw many cetaceans for our greatest happiness: killer whales, whales, a shark, rays... much more life than in the Atlantic.

Now we pose ourselves a few months to the marquises where will be born the small third Tivano in December 2018. Next video will be about those incredible islands where we are under the spell!"
