Since then the teams have been preparing except that the protocol governing this Cup prohibits the launching of the final boat (which measured 75 feet) before March 30, 2019. Only prototypes of less than 12 m can be studied. This measure was taken to limit research and development costs.
Today it is the English team INEOS, (the former BAR team that participated in the last Cup in Bermuda) who drew the first by launching a first model.
