Princess X95, first model in a"Superflybridge" range

Princess X95, first model of the Princess Yachts X Class

In collaboration with naval architect Bernard Olesinski and Italian design studio Pininfarina, Princess Yachts worked on the design of a brand new range of superyachts, the Princess X Class. This range whose first model is the X95 is characterized by its incredible flybridge, its main deck open and enlarged and its new deep V hull. A yacht designed for adventure with a design where glazing is at the heart of the design.

The British shipyard Princess Yachts has just announced a new range of yachts - Princess X Class - and the birth of a first model the Princess X95. This 95-foot (28.96 m) superyacht is distinguished from the fleet by its design and architecture, which reinvents the flybridge concept. The naval architect Bernard Olesinski and the Italian design studio Pininfarina worked on the importance of the exterior space and the segmentation of the interior spaces and bridges. The new hull, designed in partnership with the architect, is also evolving the V-profond concept, which should improve efficiency and stability by 15%.

X Class, the"Superfly" range

With this new X Class and this first yacht model, the yard has worked on a new flybridge concept, which is almost the entire length of the boat and covers almost the entire main deck. This architecture gives rise to the"Superflybridge", the defining characteristic of this new range. According to the UK yard, this arrangement provides 10 % more outdoor space and 40 % more indoor space. In total, the Super Flybridge extends nearly 22 metres (72 feet), more than twice the length of a typical flybridge on a yacht of this size.

The flybridge's particularity is its double access. A first conventional from the cockpit and a second from the bow or two stairs on either side of the main deck lead to the upper deck.

From the main deck saloon, it is also possible to reach the flybridge, and more precisely the Sky Lounge. This fully enclosed and air-conditioned area also houses the cockpit, which can also be fully enclosed with sliding doors. Behind is the large living room which has a wonderful panoramic view.

The flybridge's rear area houses a covered dining area for 8 people and a large flexible area. At the front, there is a U-shaped lounge area and a sunbathing area or spa bath.

An enlarged main deck and adaptable spaces

On the Princess X95, the main deck has been extended to the bow as far as possible. Indeed, the forward beach is rather reduced for a yacht of this size, but compensated by this large flybridge. Thus, this architecture made it possible to create a main deck space that extends over nearly 18 m.

This large open space bathed in light thanks to the immense side windows can be fitted out in the traditional way with a large lounge, a dining room, a bar and a kitchen and a huge owner's cabin at the front, with tempered and tinted glass walls to delimit the two spaces, or a cinema room.

But the main deck can also be left completely open with a single space that includes a large lounge, a large open kitchen with a large central island and breakfast bar, and a dining or leisure area.

Each space can be customized and used in many ways to offer the owner a flexible lifestyle. Thus, on the lower deck, there is a storage space for a jet ski for example, but also a part reserved for the crew, a large central main cabin with lounge area and private bathroom. Each of the guest cabins to port and starboard can be configured as two single beds or a double bed, and has their own private bathroom. At the front, another very large cabin with bathroom finds its place.

A new hull design

On the X95, Princess Yachts has worked hard on stability in all sea conditions, with a 15% improvement in efficiency in traditional hull design.

The wave pierced bow should ensure a comfortable passage at sea. Advantages on this bow shape which, according to the yard, should be further improved by the extension of the hull surfaces under the bathing platform. The announced result is a hull that smoothly shifts from very efficient cruising speeds to maximum speed while maintaining an optimal trim angle and driving comfort in all conditions.

The X95 is powered by two MAN V12 engines, with a maximum speed of 24 to 26 knots. With a fuel capacity of 13,400 litres, the X95 was designed for long trips.
