Activities for the whole family
"IconCraft is a concept of recreational dayboat and jet-skiing is only an option." explains the founder to us to explain his project. In other words, the objective of this 34-foot boat is to carry all the toys you need to spend a day of fun on the water. Children can enjoy the sea from the large swimming platform while adults can go jet-skiing, seabobiking or any other activity with the toys on board.
"The idea is to revisit the dayboat and offer a new product for first-time buyers. I wanted to bring recreational recreation on a 7-metre boat. There is therefore a large 10 m2 bathing area, but also high freeboards for the safety of children" cedric explains.
On the front of the boat, the configuration remains classic with a U-shaped saloon with a table for meals for example. A large, wide centre console with a bench seat at the front has enough space to install the various navigation screens. A small windscreen covers the console, a will of its designer, as he explains it to us " I wanted a very low windshield to feel like I was driving a canoe, so the V-shaped bow of the boat is very tuliped to be able to deflect well." A very simple bench completes the entire cockpit.
A large cockpit that becomes a bathing beach
It is at the rear that the boat stands out from the others. It has a very large cockpit, empty of any fittings and whose bulwarks tip over to transform the space into a very large swimming beach. Here, we have a choice between two options. The first is a fixed deck and the second is a deck that opens in two to reveal a jet garage, with a hull bottom adapted to accommodate the personal watercraft.
While sailing, both sides of the bridge will remain open, so it will be necessary to take the jet ski out to close the bridge and enjoy it as a large swimming platform.
A boat made in France
The IconCraft 24 is built in aluminium in Brittany and the finishing touches (painting, motorisation, electricity...) are carried out at the Arie de Boom shipyard in Mandelieu, of which Cédric Labourie is director. This aluminium construction guarantees robustness to support the weight of the engines, but also that of the jet ski. Aluminium also allows you to customize your boat, for example to have a higher console.
For propulsion, the Iconcrat receives 2x200 HP Evinrude with a joystick option, which gives it an idle speed of 48 knots and a loaded speed of 37/38 knots. "The empty boat weighs 1.4 tons and 2.5 tons with jet skis and toys" . It is also possible to choose 2x150 CH.
The price of the bare hull is 89 900 ? HT to which 37 810 ? will have to be added for the 2 Evinrude engines. The Seadoo Spark Trixx is at ?7,416 excluding VAT. The complete package is therefore displayed at the price of 135 126 ? HT.
A range is already in development with two models to come: a 34 footer that will be more comfortable with a large sunbathing area at the back and a 40 footer.
A clever and well thought-out dayboat
A little skeptical about the concept at first, the Iconcraft finally finds its place on the market with a different idea that we like. The idea of being able to combine water sports and pleasure, of providing activities for the whole family with a single unit is clever and well thought out. And above all, we could see ourselves relaxing in the sun with the children on this large swimming platform, while others would have fun on the jet or explore the seabed... However, the price could slow down more than one, especially since it is a question of addressing first-time buyers.
