Jean-Benoit Héron is an illustrator. With his pencil and watercolours, he draws the sea, boats and lighthouses with remarkable detail and precision. His perpetual calendar is installed on a desk. Every week, a new lighthouse of the French coast is displayed in front of us.
From Dunkirk to the tip of Corsica, each lighthouse is located on a background of a nautical chart with its essential information on the back of the sheet: name, geographical position, year of commissioning, height, flashes, range... This calendar ends with a few pages with small explanations on the lighthouses, such as explosions of 2 lighthouses showing the interior fittings.
Each drawing reveals a softness. The choice of watercolour, the desire to show only the lighthouse out of its environment, leaves the "reader" in a certain blissful contemplation.
Intelligently, this calendar is intended to serve 3 years (not really perpetual, as it is valid in 2019, 2020 and 2021). It will fit perfectly on a desk or dresser.
A perfect gift idea for sea lovers.
