Capelli Tempest 1000 Open, a 10 m that opens up for a small cruise

Ten years after its release, the Tempest 1000 Open returns in 2018/2019 in a modernized and more spacious version. With an increased width, the Capelli shipyard now offers a real cabin to consider the small coastal cruise. And it's not the only novelty to discover this sporty model.

A revised bridge layout

Capelli is renewing one of its best-sellers, the T1000 Open, for 2019. While its overall length - 10.10 m - has not changed, it has gained 11 cm in width (3.35 m wide), which gives it more stability and therefore comfort at sea. Its hull also remains the same, having proven its worth on the previous model. But what changes considerably is its deck layout, which gains in modernity and space, especially with the addition of a beautiful central cabin.

Adapt to expected changes

"The 1000 Open already existed. Released in 2008, it was time to propose a new version in 2018. The rear saloon is larger, to accommodate more people. We now offer a sun awning, the refrigerator has been enlarged, the navigation screen too, to see better. The shapes have also been reworked with lines that start from the bottom and work their way up. It is also more habitable with a cabin and a toilet. The priorities are different today and the boats are evolving, that's why we're changing our models by adding details" explains Umberto Capelli.

Lazing around at the front...

On the front, there is no major change in the layout, as the T1000 Open retains its generous sunbathing area (2.20 x 1.85 m). However, the latter is expanding with a surface area of 3.7 m2. Thanks to the redesign of the console, a cushion is placed on the front of the console, further improving comfort.

Comfort in the cabin...

It is at the console level that a lot of design work has been done. What was once a large storage space - so large that it is difficult to access the bottom - is now a real cabin with a 2.10 m bed and a separate bathroom. With an under beam height of 1.47 m (+ 12 cm), a width of 1.60 m (+ 10 cm) and an interior length of 2.48 m, Capelli makes it possible to envisage a small coastal cruise with the T1000 Open. The two side windows and the glass door let light flow into the interior, making the cabin bright.

The cockpit now incorporates two ergonomic seats with a dual driving position (seated or standing) for greater comfort, both while sailing and at anchor. On the back, the leaning-post has a kitchen with a refrigerator, a sink and the possibility of installing a cooking station.

Protection for the rear saloon...

The rear saloon has also been redesigned, moving from a circular layout to a U-shaped layout with a central table. The cockpit is well protected thanks to the addition of freeboard directly integrated on the hypalon floats. An arrangement that we see more and more on this type of family and comfortable units, dedicated to idleness.

Facilitated access to water

Access to the boat is via a port side passage that allows access to the very large rear platforms, integrated on each side of the engine compartment. To make swimming easier, they are both framed by two stainless steel handrails. It is easy to move from one platform to another thanks to the large space in front of the engines.

Several options are available, including the addition of a cover held in place by two carbon brackets.

For motorization, if the recommended power is 2x250 HP, the T1000 Open can receive up to 2x300 HP.
