European Powerboat of The Year 2019: five entry-level products for a day at sea

Here are the 5 nominees in the category up to 25 feet from the European Powerboat of The Year 2019. Entry level models from 5.28 m to 7.33 m, available in open, cabin or helmsman versions.

Nominees in this category are considered entry-level motor boats. These dayboats up to 25 feet must therefore meet fundamental criteria to enable them to meet customer expectations: quality/price ratio, ease of driving, safety, but also simple and easy to implement road transport.

Its central console also offers a small cabin with toilets and there is even a kitchenette on board.

With the standard 100 HP engine, the maximum speed is 30 knots. With 200 HP, you will exceed 40 knots. With its affordable price and numerous features, the Nuva M6 Open will appeal to first-time buyers.

Boston Whaler 170 Montauk

In 2018, Boston Whaler offered a new lease of life to the 170 Montauk model. This open with a 5.28 m centre console and a classic design features the well-known quality of the American shipyard. With a simple but sophisticated interior layout (tilting backrest, cup holders...), it offers all the comfort expected by a small boat. Sport fishermen will appreciate its vast fishing area and stability. With an engine capacity of 90 to 115 HP maximum, the 170 Montauk reaches a top speed of 34 knots with the lowest power.

Sting 730 Fast Track

This 7.33 m long helmsman from the Norwegian shipyard Sting Boats (same house as Nordkapp Boats) is the largest model in the range. With a large cockpit and a beautiful wheelhouse housing a saloon, a kitchen area (double sink), a helm station and a double cabin, this model is suitable for family outings and fishing trips with friends.

Its particularity? Its double helm station (on a 7 m model) with the possibility of installing an outdoor one, as an option.

Nordkapp Noblesse 660

This 6.50 m daycruiser is the intermediate model of the Noblesse range, daycruisers for small family cruises. Nordkapp has teamed up with Norwegian designer Espen Thorup to offer a new, brighter hull and a more protected, deeper and more comfortable cockpit on this model.

This family model, but sporty at the same time, offers all the comfort for a weekend at sea, thanks to its double cabin and marine toilet and its numerous equipment (sunbathing, cockpit table, refrigerator, swimming platform...). Recommended motor power of 200 HP.

Glastron GTD 220

Launched in 2017, Glastron's GTD range offers spacious and easy-to-operate deck-boats, in both inboard and outboard versions. With two large cockpits at the front and rear, the key word on board is space. Available in single or double console, the GTD 220 offers a wide range of seating for up to 13 people in a 6.80 m unit.

In 2018, the range offers a different style, very 70's with a new line marked by oblique lines and a U-shaped hull shape.
