Auction of nautical charts for the benefit of seafarers' solidarity

Map drawn by Hervé Di Rosa

On 26 March 2019, an auction of 60 nautical charts transformed by 60 artists was held in Paris to benefit the solidarity of seafarers. All the profits from this sale will be entirely donated to sea rescue actors, the SNSM and SOS Méditerranée.

The nautical charts were recovered by the Watever association on the cargo ships destined for destruction in the port of Chittagong in Bangladesh. 60 artists seized them to transform them according to their taste and inspiration.

Names such as Hervé Di Rosa (painter), Titouan Lamazou (painter), Daniel Pennac (writer), Alain Passard (cook), Speedy Graphito (Street Art), Jérôme Mesnager (Street Art), Richard Texier, Patrick Le Quément (design), Ahmed Shahabuddin (painting), Fafi (Street Art), Levalet (Street Art), Sara Bran (silversmith), Olivier Claris (photographer) and others, responded by offering an interpretation of marine charts.

The cards will be exhibited at Lafayette Anticipations (9 Rue du Plâtre, 75004 Paris) from 23 to 25 March 2019 and the sale will be held at the same location on 26 March 2019 from 7pm.

Here are some examples among the 60 works that will be sold that evening.
