The new MCY 70, a luxurious and refined yacht

The new MYC 70

After seven years of good and loyal service, Monte Carlo Yachts has decided to develop one of these flagship models, the MCY 70, a 21.08 m yacht. On the agenda, more space on board, more light and more customization. A successful bet for the first of the three new generation models, which will be launched in 2019.

Natural evolution

After focusing on the launch of large units - the MCY 106 in 2016 and the MCY 96 in 2017 - Monte Carlo Yachts is upgrading its models in 2019. The first of the three is the MCY 70, launched in 2012. During the year, the MCY 66 and MCY 76, the first model launched by the Italian shipyard (which belongs to the Bénéteau Group), will follow.

The MCY 70 is a 21.08 m yacht and the second model in the range after the MCY 66, on a total of 7 models. "The MCY 70 was the best of its generation. Today it is a new complete boat, even if it keeps its size and name. It is not only an evolution of design. The flybridge and superstructure also change. We did the best we could in terms of quality and technology." explains Cristina Malalan, Head of Communication and Marketing at Monte Carlo Yachts.

The MCY70's large hydraulic platform

More space on board and more light

In its new version, it offers more space on board, a larger view of the outside, improved brightness and a more extensive personalization catalogue.

"There is more space on board, the windows are bigger to better feel the feeling of being at sea. It is also much brighter. We now use natural, shiny materials that reflect light even more."

The main bridge with its huge uninterrupted living space

Another new feature is a staircase to starboard that leads directly to the owner's cabin located at the stern, which is the full width of the boat. A layout inspired by the MYC 66.

Thus, on the exposed model, the main living area extends the full length of the main deck, without any interruption, with a lounge area aft, a bar, a large galley area forward to port and a helm station for two people to starboard. The kitchen area is judiciously hidden thanks to openwork panels.

"We have worked a lot on light and space. We also offer a wide range of customization options. We want every customer to have a different yacht."

Four cabins under the deck

Under the bridge, there are now three guest cabins instead of four previously. Always to gain in vastness. The large round hull glazing in the owner's cabin - a distinctive sign of Monte Carlo Yachts - has seen the diameter double and the layout become more sophisticated. "The geometry remains the same as the materials."

The owner's cabin, huge and cosy

To save space on board, the Italian shipyard has now integrated its fuel tank into the hull. "We have a hull design that allows for modifications."

A huge deck saloon at the bow

On the aft side of the yacht, the hydraulic platform can accommodate a 3 m tender. The front platform retains this huge space dedicated to comfort with its large sunbathing areas, which can be shaded by a bimini. "This forward platform is the hallmark of Monte Carlo yachts. It exists on all our models."

A customizable flybridge

The flybridge has also been significantly improved, making it even more spacious. "Before, we had side columns and now the MCY 70 has a carbon fibre T-Top superstructure, inspired by the largest models. The flybridge is thus larger and wider." This vast open-air space can be fully customized according to the owner's needs: outdoor living room, sunbathing, outdoor dining room..

A protected flybridge platform

Many customization options are available: color and material of the upholstery, wood, fabrics... But also equipment, such as a television that comes out of the kitchen ceiling, an element very popular in the United States.

To position itself on the top of the range, Monte Carlo Yachts offers a boat that already has many options such as stabilizer, upholstery colours, materials and materials, fabrics, etc. "Before designing the boat, we study the program with the customer to customize his yacht according to his needs and desires."

On the MCY 70, you can sail alone, with a crew or a skipper, it is up to the owner. With 2 MAN V8 (1,200 HP) the cruising speed is 24 to 26 knots and the top speed is 30 knots.

Stand out from the crowd

"Customers are changing and want more linear design. With this evolution of our old models, we want to try to be unique, by distinguishing ourselves from our competitors, like Princess or San Lorenzo."

With this evolution, Monte Carlo Yacht offers a new spacious and bright MYC 70 with a top-of-the-range layout, but nothing ostentatious. It gives an impression of class, but also of simplicity and purity.

Concerning the price, the yard does not wish to communicate on the latter, but it takes a few million euros to buy this new model.
