The biggest downwind in the SUP, a sporting and ecological challenge

The Teulade brothers are professionals in the Stand-up paddle of southern France. The Mediterranean Sea their original playground is now the most polluted sea in terms of plastic. To raise awareness of the cause, they decided to take on a sporting and ecological challenge.

Ludovic and Jeremy - two brothers from the south of France nicknamed the "Teulade brothers" - embarked on a major sporting and ecological challenge. These stand-up paddle professionals have the chance to sail all over the world, but are very attached to their sea of heart, the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, according to WWF, this one has "a plastic concentration four times higher than the plastic continent in the Pacific Ocean"

Witnessing the increase of plastic in this sea, they want to connect the south of France to Corsica in SUP to fight against plastic pollution. This crossing in extreme conditions will also be the opportunity to make the biggest downwind in the history of the SUP.

In pairs and in relays, they will sail more than 200 km with a 100 km/h mistral and a 5-6 m swell for nearly 20 hours on 17-foot boards.

For each km covered, they will donate ?5 to the association Water Family -Du Flacon à la Vague, which raises awareness among the younger generations about water protection.

A fundraising event

This challenge requires significant funds that the two brothers hope to raise on the Ekosea crowdfunding platform. If part of the project has been financed by their sponsors - Oxbows and Tom - an additional ?5000 is required to ensure their safety and the smooth running of the operation (taking pictures, renting an accompanying boat, etc.).
