After a first technical stopover in dry dock at La Plalice, the Hermione left Rochefort on Saturday 27 April for its new long journey that will take it to the heart of the most beautiful Norman ports.

For three weeks, the Hermione's technical team carried out the last refit before the big start: painting and inspection of the hull. The frigate has now set sail again on Saturday 27 April 2019 for Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, the first stop on its Normandy Freedom voyage. Led by Commander Yann Cariou and 56 gabiers, the Hermione will enter the port of the Normandy city on Saturday 4 May at 11 am.

This first trip will be an opportunity for the new gabiers to discover sailing on an old rig. But also to satisfy this long awaited desire for the most part.

This trip to Normandy coincides with the 75th anniversary of the landing on the Normandy beaches, and will have as its highlight the Armada de Rouen, from 7 to 16 June 2019. In total, the Hermione will stop over in 8 cities in France from May 4 to June 19.
