The Amasea 84, a three-deck catamaran for a tailor-made layout

The Amasea 84

A few months ago, we presented you the Amasea 84, the first motor catamaran from Amasea Yacht, based in Monaco. After the discovery of the genesis of the project, here are some new details, notably on the custom layout of the boat.

A construction on three bridges

The Amasea 84 is the first model of the brand new manufacturer Amasea Yachts, whose headquarters are located in Monaco. The founder's idea - Jack Wijnants - is to build offshore catamarans for long ocean voyages. And to provide a high level of comfort on board, he has chosen an architecture that breaks with current codes. Indeed, this 25 m multihull built in aluminium has three decks.

This design allows more flexibility in terms of layout and space distribution. Its 11 m main beam also provides more interior and exterior volume.

A very high level of customization

The limited production range will offer a very high level of customization, with customers being encouraged to choose their own interior designer. Only the three-bridge configuration and exterior style cannot be changed.

"The interior design is left to the customer's choice. 3D rendering allows you to project yourself, but everything can be customized, even the widening of the glazing or the reduction of the bulwarks" explains the founder.

The standard layout includes a large lounge/dining room with a surface area of 62 m2 on the main deck. At the front, two guest cabins of 16.7 m2 each can be installed. But it is also possible to install the large owner's cabin. The main kitchen is on the same level, at the front of the living room and has a surface area of 15.8 m2.

On the upper deck, the steering station is installed at the front. At the rear, the owner has the choice between two VIP cabins of 20.5 and 17.5 m2, with access to the terrace or a very large owner's cabin.

The crew cabins are installed in the hulls on the lower deck. In the same place are the two engine chocks, the laundry area and the two garages for tenders and toys. The front space of both floats can be used for guests.

Generous outdoor spaces

In addition to the generous outdoor cockpit areas of the main and upper decks, owners can also enjoy a flybridge (sundeck) with an outdoor helm station and a large relaxation area on the main deck forward.

6 weeks at sea

The Amasea 84 has been designed for family use over long distances. The manufacturer announces a range of 2000 miles (without specifying at what speed) and the possibility of sailing for 6 weeks in a row without refuelling. The large storage capacities also make it possible to keep enough food for the same period.

According to initial calculations, the maximum speed should be 20 knots and the recommended economic speed is 8 knots.

Delivery in 2021

The founder of the site plans to start construction of the first 25 m model before the end of 2019. The catamaran will be built in Turkey, at the Amasea Yachts shipyard, specially installed for this purpose.

The construction of the first model is estimated at 20 months, and that of the future models should be reduced to 12 to 16 months. Finishing will be carried out in the Netherlands, according to Dutch quality standards.

The basic rate is estimated at ?6.5 million. While for the time being only one model is in the manufacturer's range - which was launched in 2018 - future models with a maximum length of 40 m should complete the range.
